A New Year has begun, with new horizons to be savoured, so why not try the Open Door Coffee Mornings at St. Andrew’s Church?
The coffee mornings were introduced in mid-2009 at the church, in Eastfield Avenue, Monkseaton, following the completion of the new reception area. They take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 12 noon, and have proved to be a real success.
They are an excellent opportunity for friends to meet up over a coffee and enjoy the sunny south-facing reception area at the church. With a coffee hostess to look after everyone, and members of the various groups attending vocational classes also joining in, the coffee mornings provide conversation, friendship and fun as an integral part of their ‘magic’!
Short acts of worship prior to 10am have become popular, and are an opportunity for church members to lead these services.
Also in the reception area is St Andrew’s well stocked bookstall, with new titles arriving daily, as well as a delicious selection of homemade preserves and pickles available to buy.
As well as the coffee mornings, there is a full programme of events, group activities, children’s and young people’s groups and uniformed organisations, specialised courses (such as art groups and yoga) and much more happening at St Andrew’s. Please contact Ray Hammond, our Church Secretary on 0191 252 3319 for further information.
All are welcome to St Andrew’s and especially to our Open Door Coffee Mornings.
