LOCAL INTEREST: Walking in a Whitley Winter Wonderland

November 30, 2013

Tycoon BayA team of young entrepreneurs from Whitley Bay High School have been busy putting plans into place for a Christmas Market.

The group, who are known as ‘Tycoon Bay’, is made up of a mixture of students aged from 13 to 18, all of whom have a passion for enterprise and enjoy working together to create exciting events and products.

The Christmas Market will be the group’s first event of this school year and will showcase a wide range of quality local businesses, plus crafts ranging from handmade jewellery to delicious sweet treats that will be perfect for presents.

Alongside this there will be a fabulous range of festive entertainment provided by some of the many talented students from the school.

A percentage of the profits raised from the event will be donated to support the students’ selected charity of Team Kenya, which pays for secondary education and aims to empower young people in Western Kenya. The school has raised thousands of pounds in recent years and hopes to continue to raise more through this event.

The Christmas Market will take place in the school on Thursday 12th December between 5pm and 7pm and the members of Tycoon Bay welcome all to come along and support it.
