Have you ever wanted to learn how to play croquet? Well, now is your chance! Tynemouth Golf Croquet Club has a few vacancies and is holding an Open Day on Tuesday 30th July from 10am to noon – and if you like the game you can join this very friendly club.
We play every Thursday and Saturday afternoon. We usually play in pairs and each game does not last more than 25 minutes.
The basic rules of golf croquet are very simple – just play your ball and don’t touch any other ball; only play when it is your turn; hit your ball just once when it is your turn and so on. And the first pair to win seven hoops in the time allowed are the winners. But the tactics of the game are fascinating; you can do quite a lot of nasty things to your opponents within the rules! It’s probably best if husband and wife are not on opposing sides…
Interested? If so, please ring June Stutt on 0191 251 1067 or Brian Roberts on 0191 289 2508. Our club meets at Tynemouth Cricket Club, off Preston Avenue, down the narrow lane past the rugby club. No special clothing is needed and we will provide all the equipment and tuition.
