Crawford Park sits in a sheltered area between Melbourne Crescent and Wembley Avenue with entrances situated on Seatonville Road and Crawford Place, West Monkseaton.
A meeting was held on 15th September 1953 to form a bowling club and to start playing in the 1954 season, and we are looking to celebrate our 60th anniversary this year.
The club has both male and female members and plays in 5 leagues:
- Tynemouth and district, Daglish league (Monday evening, mixed teams).
- Northumberland County Bowling Ass., Knight league (Tues evening).
- As above, Clegg league (Wed evening).
- Coast and District Veterans, Hately league (Thursday afternoon, mixed teams).
- Crawford Smith, league (Friday afternoon, mixed teams).
We also play in a number of knock out cup tournaments.
The club has a nice friendly atmosphere and is always looking for new members, young and old. Equipment is available to try before you buy and we have registered coaches to show you how to play. Free taster sessions will be available at weekends this year.
Do call in or phone chairman Edward Atkinson on 0191 253 2043 or secretary Eric Lambert on 0191 253 2334 for further information. More details are also here.
