ENTERTAINMENT: Cole Porter comes to Tynemouth

May 31, 2014

Red Hot & ColeTynemouth Amateur Operatic Society will present Red Hot & Cole, the life and music of the great Cole Porter, at King’s Priory School in Tynemouth on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th July.

Drawing from the scores of Anything Goes and Kiss Me Kate to High Society and Can-Can, Red Hot & Cole bubbles with songs that have become international standards.

Cole Porter’s rise to superstardom is traced throughout the performance by way of delightful party repartee and revealing anecdotes from his nearest and dearest.

Dipping into Mr Porter’s De-Lovely song writing style, this tuneful show depicts the brilliance that characterises it as well as the depths from which his inspiration came.

A few rather unknown musical and lyrical gems are the cherry on top of this scrumptious Porter sundae.

The show promises to be a real treat so book now to avoid disappointment!

Performances are on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th July 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday, at King’s Priory School, Tynemouth. Tickets at £11 from the Booking Secretary on 0191 252 1827, www.taos.org.uk, or Kitscheners Vintage Cafe in the Green Ginger Shopping Arcade, Front Street, Tynemouth.
