We’ve been very busy over the last few weeks updating our website, which was desperately in need of a makeover, and we’ve taken the opportunity to turn it into much more of a community based site than it was before. So we’re including the articles and features from our local contributors and all the information about community events and groups we include in the magazines, as well as contact details for all the businesses who advertise with us. We felt it was high time we had more of a 21st century ‘online’ presence but it also means that you have access to the same information whether you have your magazine or your computer in front of you. Plus, it allows readers from outside the area to keep up with what’s going on!
And how’s this for high-tech: if you have a smartphone with a QR reader ‘app’ on it, you can use it to go direct to our new website by ‘reading’ the special square code to the left of this paragraph. You’ll also find the code at the bottom of the magazine’s back cover.
Staying with the subject of websites, local writer Geoff Holland has asked me to make you aware of the listenupnorth.com website which has audio-drama, poetry, short stories and extracts from novels and interviews drawn from the North East area, all available to listen to online—a worthwhile project in which Geoff himself appears, reading some of his own poems, with recent contributions about the Spanish City Centenary.
Don’t forget, if you have any comments about the magazine, then do please get in touch—call us on 0191 253 7608 or send an email to info@roundaboutpublications.co.uk.
