October brings Halloween, the end of British Summer Time (don’t forget to turn your clocks back on Sunday 28th) and, as mentioned last month, it’s also ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month. Our area always supports this worthwhile cause, and you’ll find a list of events and activities in the community diary here.
As usual, we have a goodly selection of articles from our local contributors. Student Carole Saville writes about the trauma of waiting for and receiving those all important exam results, an experience she went through recently after taking her AS levels at Whitley Bay High School – see her article here.
Our well travelled North Sea Pilot, Terry Took, gives us the next episode of his tour around Australia and tells of his trip to the antipodean version of an Austrian chalet here. Anne Morrison provides some useful advice on techniques for coping with stress – one of which is smiling! Find out more here.
So, I hope you have an enjoyable October, hopefully without the storms and floods of earlier this year. And hopefully without too much mention of the ‘C’ word – though members of my household are already dropping heavy hints about possible presents!
As ever, we do like to hear from you, so if you have any comments then do please get in touch – call us on 0191 253 7608 or email info@roundaboutpublications.co.uk.
