Excitement is mounting in our house, with the number of sleeps to Christmas being carefully counted down by the children, discussions taking place about exactly when the decorations should go up and preparations for the big day well under way. I remember from my own childhood how time can seem to drag in the run-up to Christmas Day, but thankfully there’s a lot going on over the next few weeks to help keep us occupied. You’ll find information about local events in our upcoming community events (see here) as well as events advertised throughout the magazine.
Three local events in particular are worth a mention as they’re happening over the next few days: the Tynemouth Village Christmas Festival on Saturday 3rd December, the St Nicholas Festival in Whitley Bay on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December and a Christmas Fayre in the Spanish City Dome on Sunday 4th December.
I’m pleased to welcome a new contributor to the magazine this month: local teacher and sports fan David Tickner has contributed an article on the Whitley Warriors (see here), and we’re looking forward to some more sports-related articles from David in the months to come.
Your January issue of Roundabout Monkseaton will be delivered on either the 5th or 6th January and Roundabout Tynemouth on 6th or 9th January (weather permitting), slightly later than usual due to the Christmas break. So, until then, it just remains for me to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
In the meantime, if you have any comments, then please get in touch – call 0191 253 7608 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
