Celebrations Flower Festival

June 30, 2012

St Andrew’s Church, Monkseaton is staging a ‘Celebrations’ Flower Festival from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th July. It is also the opening of the Olympics on Friday 27th and our Flower Festival Concert will be held on Saturday 28th July.

The church last staged a Flower Festival in 2002 to celebrate its Platinum Anniversary and in 2012 it is celebrating 80 years of worship and service to the community and the wider church family. St Andrew’s Church had a renaissance in 2009 when a new reception area was added along with a major refurbishment programme and the church is now well served to take it forward in the 21st century. The premises are valued and enjoyed by a wide variety of traditional church based organisations, children’s activity groups, the arts, friendship activities and a full church programme .

St Andrew’s thriving Flower Committee, together with support from local Flower Clubs, will put together the arrangements which have been kindly sponsored by members and friends of St Andrew’s together with local businesses. There will also be an Art Display in the Main Hall.

A programme of events will support the festival and St Andrew’s gives a warm welcome to everyone to come along between 25th and 29th July to enjoy the flowers. Please contact Joan Blanchfield on 0191 296 1931 for further information.
