Walks take place every other Saturday in areas such as Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria, Scotland, and both the Yorkshire Dales and Moors.
We cater for a range of abilities: there is usually a choice of four walks that vary from a 6 – 9 mile walk, which is essentially low level with minimal hill walking, to a 15 – 16 mile walk which will usually be to the higher hills and is intended for the stronger walker. The other two walks are graded in between the above.
All you need is a strong pair of boots, waterproofs, a rucksack and a packed lunch. Sorry, we can’t guarantee the weather – but we can guarantee a warm welcome as St. Edward’s is a friendly club with a lively social life for those who are interested.
The bus pick up points start at what was the old Broadway Pub in Tynemouth, travelling into Whitley Bay, Monkseaton, Shiremoor to Four lane Ends and then on to South Gosforth
The next walks, costing £7 each, will be:
- Sat 1st September to Bellingham
- Sat 15th September to Allendale
- Sat 29th September to Richmond (Yorks)
For further information or to book a place on one of the walks, contact Val Davis, Membership Secretary, on 0191 251 5591 or Roger Wright on 0191 280 1453.
